The genesis of MYSTERIES OF THE REVOLUTION occurred in the late summer/autumn of 2006 and was formed out of the rhythmic core of The Red Orchidstra whose live appearances are legendary and whose version of Roy Budd's theme from the '71 Brit gangster movie "Get Carter" has become a groove classic.

Keen also to work and experiment with a smaller unit, apart from The Orch's activities, BB constituted MOTR in the trio/three-piece format featuring BB on drums, flute, percussion, beatvox and voice, with Dan on keyboards and bassist Mark Smith. MOTR has recorded its eponymous debut album which is due for release this autumn. Its influences are wide and varied which reflect MOTR's overall sound.

REVIEWS:

"Ferocious and intoxicating music." (Chris May - All About Jazz)

"In the hands of Davis, Biro and Smith Mysteries of the Revolution is a unique combination of musical genres that avoids any trappings of excess, performed with aplomb by a trio that has nothing to prove but plenty to say." (John Melman - Abstract Logix)

"...a very fresh take on an area of modern jazz that had been all but abandoned. There are so many sonic diversions on this record that a complete listing would truly be exhausting. You will turn this up VERY loud." (Mark Saleski - BC Magazine)

"The orchestration is impressive in its vast scope... terrific funk-inspired work" (JazzReview.com)

"This is an outstanding album, particularly for those who enjoy keyboard-driven groove jazz with a psychedelic flavor." (wmshax)
